We use Smithsonian Science kits issued by OCM BOCES as our Science curriculum.
The units of study in 3rd grade are:

• How Can We Predict Patterns of Motion?
• What Explains the Similarities and Differences Between Organisms
• How do Weather and Climate Affect our Lives?
• How Can We Protect Animals When Their Habitat Changes?

Through Mystery Science we reinforce ideas and concepts taught with the Science kits, as well as perform high interest investigations and experiments.

In 3rd grade we also integrate Science concepts and skills into our literacy program, by accessing a variety of non-fiction texts in our ELA block.
