Project 2026 Update
July 24, 2025
Dear Fabius-Pompey Community,
I am excited to announce that the much-anticipated capital project, Project 2026, for our district is officially starting this month. As we begin this important work, you will begin to see several changes and improvements around our schools. This project will provide lasting benefits to our students, staff, and community, and I want to take a moment to update you on the specific areas of focus for the coming months.
- Elementary and Bus Garage Parking Lots: The first visible work will be taking place in the elementary school parking lot, where we will start milling work to prepare for future improvements. Additionally, if time permits before the start of school, we will be making improvements to the bus garage parking area otherwise it will be done over the summer of 2026. We appreciate your patience as we navigate these necessary changes.
- Staging Areas and Contractors’ Trailers: In preparation for ongoing construction, we will be setting up staging areas throughout the district, which will include contractors’ trailers. These areas will be fenced off to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and visitors during the construction process. We ask for your understanding and patience as we organize and secure these spaces to facilitate the work ahead.
- High School Abatement: Before our students return for the fall, we will begin abatement work at the high school. This phase is essential to ensure that the school is safe and up to code for all students and staff, as we prepare for the next phases of renovation and improvement.
- New Technology Space and Agricultural Program: One of the most exciting aspects of this project is the construction of a new technology area at the high school. This new space will feature a state-of-the-art greenhouse and updated classrooms for our agricultural and STEAM programs, enhancing opportunities for students to gain hands on experience in professional fields that are critical to our future. We are proud to be investing in programs that will provide real world skills to our students and prepare them for a range of career paths.
- Soccer/Baseball Field Enhancements: After the conclusion of the soccer season, we will begin major improvements to the soccer field. This includes the installation of new center bleachers, improved walkway and upgraded field lighting, creating a better experience for our athletes, spectators, and the entire community. We will also be addressing the dugouts at the JV field and the varsity field fencing, which we plan to work on this fall when they are not in use during the season.
- Gym Renovations: Looking ahead to after the winter sports season, we will start renovations to our gymnasium. This will include the installation of new bleachers and a new floor, providing our students with a more modern and functional space for physical education classes, sports events, and other school activities.
These upgrades are the result of the hard work and dedication of many individuals and the support of our taxpayers, who approved the capital project. We are confident that the investments we are making now will have a positive impact on our students’ educational experiences for years to come.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all our taxpayers for their continued support in making this project possible. If you have any questions or concerns about the work being done, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly by email at jpeck@fabiuspompey.org or by phone at 315-683-5301. We will continue to keep you informed as the project progresses and we move forward with the improvements that will benefit the entire Fabius-Pompey community.
Thank you for your patience and your continued support. Together, we are building a brighter future for our students and our district.
Sincerely,
Lloyd L. Peck, Ed.D.
