F-P Awarded UPK Grant by NYSED

Dear Fabius-Pompey Community,

At the beginning of the 2024 calendar year, the District applied for a New York State grant to expand Full-Day Universal Prekindergarten (UPK).  The grant application requested additional funding to expand from two sections/classrooms in the 2023-24 school year to three sections/classrooms in the 2024-25 school year.  This request was supported by the anticipated increase in UPK students from 31 to potentially upward of 50 UPK students during the 2024-25 school year.  (The District uses live birth data to forecast enrollment.)

The District is excited to report that New York State has tentatively awarded Fabius-Pompey $180,000 to support the addition of one section/classroom to accommodate 18 more UPK students!  While the final award letter has not been received, the Administration wants to cautiously celebrate the news with the community!  

Once the final award letter is received, Administration will review the finer points and requirements of the expansion grant.  So please keep posted to the District website and communications from both the District Office and Elementary Main Office for more information in the coming weeks.
