FFA Members Travel to the 99th State FFA Convention

Last week ten of our very own F-P FFA members traveled to Buffalo to the 99th State FFA Convention. Students attended tours, visited Niagara Falls, participated in workshops, contests, and gathered with roughly 2,100 fellow FFA members and guests.  We are excited to share the following accolades: 

- Bella Esposito placed first in the state for her SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience) in Agriculture Education. The process began in February with Bella's work completing an extensive application explaining her experiences related to educating the public and students about Agriculture Education as well as linking her project to state and national learning standards. She received a scholarship and will be submitting her project on the national level in late Fall!  

Bella also received her Empire Degree, which is the highest degree a FFA member can receive in NY.  Bella's application consisted of a written analysis of her SAE project, her growth as an FFA member, and what she has learned during her time in FFA.

- Our Fabius-Pompey Agriculture Program was recognized as a chapter with the largest. FFA is an intra-curricular activity, meaning every student in an Agriculture class can be a FFA member. Our chapter provided resources for FFA dues of 186 students so they could have the opportunity to join FFA.   As a result, our membership increased from 19 to 186 students.

- Kinsley Dewhirst and Anya DiRienzo received their very own FFA jacket.  The process included completion of applications by both Anya and Kinsley. They both were selected, from a large pool of applicants, to receive their jackets. 
Overall, all members who attended had a great time and grew as FFA members and individuals. Thank you all for your continued support of these students!
