Our Mission Statement:

The Fabius-Pompey Elementary Art program follows the New York State Standards for learning, as well as National and New York State Visual Art Standards. Through this course, students will gain an understanding of the elements of art: line, shape, color, value, form, texture and space as well as the principles of art: balance, contrast, emphasis, pattern, unity, movement and rhythm to guide them in creating well executed compositions.
 
Students will be able to explore a wide variety of materials, develop necessary art skills and techniques, as well as learn an extensive art vocabulary. Students will also learn how to interpret and evaluate works of art from famous artists throughout history.
 
Art grading reports will be sent home twice during the school year with the student’s report cards. I am evaluating and grading students on the categories of Skills/Craftsmanship, Lesson Objectives, Behavior and Effort/Participation.
